Day 2 began at 6:30 a.m. with a delicious, complimentary, warm breakfast from LaQuinta. After breakfast we headed for Virginia. During our drive, we started noticing the trees were getting taller and scenery was becoming more beautiful as we got closer to Virginia.

Based on our AAA Triptik, we took Hwy 5 just outside of Richmond Va., to reach Williamsburg. Although the road was scenic, the speed limit was somewhere around 25 to 35 mph. So, what appeared to be a 30 min. drive on our map, turned out to actually be a 1 hr. drive. On the bright side, we passed a few historic plantations along Hwy 5 that we'd like to tour next time we visit Va.

We finally arrived at the Hampton Inn and Suites hotel on Richmond Rd. in Williamsburg around 5 p.m.
